Event Name Let Big Brother Watch! (From Space...) @ CODI2016
Start Date 15th Aug 2016 3:00pm
End Date 15th Aug 2016 4:00pm
Duration 1 hour
Description

Satellite images now cover every inch of the world. So the question is - is this an invasion of privacy and a major challenge to human rights that it is sometimes argued to be, or is Big Brother really still quite controlled and tame? Is it fair to say that the majority of satellite images benefit our daily lives more than they intrude and what is the scale and shape of their intrusion?

We will look into both the current cutting edge developments in Space Science, as well as technological applications and the impact they are generating in various contexts of our daily lives. Since we are particularly interested in your views, about half of the show will be discussion based, when you can ask our presenter questions and share your opinions and ideas!

“Let the Big Brother Watch!”, is on Monday, 15th August 2016, 3-4pm at the Stand in the Square venue (Fringe Venue 327, St Andrews Square, EH2 2AD, Edinburgh).
