Summary:

'The library has an online collection of around 20,000 digital images, many of which only have very basic catalogue records. In order to make these images more easily discoverable, we came up with a game which harnesses the power of the crowd to improve their description. In this talk we'll discuss our online collections, why we've opted for crowdsourcing and look at some of the challenges we've faced and options for the future. We'll also discuss the technical aspects behind the scenes, how we've worked in partnership with the Metadatagames platform in the US and then invite attendees to try out the game for themselves. We'll then open the session up for further discussion and provide an opportunity for attendees to have a tour of the Centre for Research Collections'.
