Biogen is one of the first and most successful biotech companies, and was founded by, among others, Kenneth Murray of the University of Edinburgh.  Pnina Abir-Am is a leading scholar in the history of molecular biology and biotechnology, and is currently in Edinburgh as a visiting research fellow.
