PhD Overview

Former Research Project: Broadly my research interests focus on the role of football as a tool for unifying or further entrenching divisions within society from a conflict resolution perspective. My primary research is on football in Lebanon. I am particularly interested in examining under which conditions can football be used as either a tool that can be employed as a cross-cultural cleavage that transcends ethnic, religious and political divisions and under which conditions does it divide, further entrenching separations within fractured and divided societies?
