I have an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from the University of York, a Masters degree in Science Culture and Communication from the University of Bath, and a Masters by Research degree in Science and Technology Studies from the University of Edinburgh. I am now undertaking a PhD in Science and Technology Studies at Edinburgh exploring the social dimensions of synthetic biology.
Before arriving at Edinburgh, I also held a professional career spanning a period of over 13 years. I started work as a Commissioning Editor in online scientific publishing before moving into broader online product development roles. I have extensive experience in specifying and managing the build and in-life use of a wide variety of online products and services and have worked with public, private and third sectors. Most recently I worked as a Director of Business Analysis and Head of Product Development for the FTSE 100, RELX Group.
