Our subject area has connections with several research groups, centres and networks whose interdisciplinary research draws in members from across the University of Edinburgh as well as from other universities.
Current Active Groups
FRIED brings together academics, students and others at and around the University of Edinburgh who are interested in food-related research. FRIED and its members approach food from a variety of angles, including inequalities of food access, long-term uses and abuses of resources, food production, food governance and trade, food in relation to health and well-being, and the culture of food and eating.
CREATe brings together an interdisciplinary team of academics from law, economics, management, computer science, sociology, psychology, ethnography and critical studies within a consortium of seven UK universities (Glasgow, East Anglia, Edinburgh, Goldsmiths University of London, Nottingham, St Andrews, and Strathclyde), and over 80 industry, public sector and civil society partners.
STIS Energy Policy Group is an interdisciplinary group of researchers working on energy policy as part of the Science Technology and Innovation Studies (STIS), in the School of Social and Political Science (SSPS) at the University of Edinburgh.
